The LG FHP1208Z5M is the best washing machine for most Indian families: an 8 kg front loader that had the shortest cotton cycle and the quietest spin of the front loaders we tested. If you prefer a top loader, buy the LG T70SPSF2Z, the quietest top loader we tested, with an inverter motor and a 10-year motor warranty.

The Haier HW80-IM12929CS6 is an 8 kg inverter front loader with a wide 525 mm drum and Puri Steam that washes decently, though its slower cycles and mid-range service keep it behind the LG and Samsung.
Washing Machines
The Haier HWM75-H826S6 has an in-built heater that clears oily stains well and a spin that left clothes drier than other top loaders we tested, but at its street price it is poor value against cheaper top loaders.

The IFB Senator Neo MXS 8012 is an 8 kg front loader that cleans acceptably but runs long cycles, vibrates and gets loud at high spin, and relies on a service network that was slow in our experience.
