The Consumer Review has been helping Indian buyers decide what to buy, and what to skip, since 2008. Our job is simple: use products the way you would, then tell you plainly how they did.

Who we are

We are an independent consumer review site. No brand or retailer decides which products we review or what we say about them.

We write for the person buying the product, not the company selling it. If something isn’t worth the money, we say so.

Why we’re refreshing the site in 2026

A lot has changed since 2008. Most people now compare prices online, wait for sales and read several reviews before they buy. They want a clear answer quickly, and they want to know whether they can trust it.

So we are rebuilding the site around that. Every review now gives you:

  • A one-line verdict at the top
  • A score out of 10 and a letter grade, with separate scores for the things that matter in that category
  • Pros and cons you can scan in seconds
  • How long we used the product, and whether we bought it or a brand lent it to us
  • The date it was last updated

We are also publishing in Hindi, so more readers can make the decision in the language they are most comfortable with.

What we review

We review the everyday products Indian households spend real money on: kitchen appliances like mixer grinders, home appliances and personal tech.

We judge them in Indian conditions. That means voltage swings and power cuts, hard water, Indian cooking and long, hot summers. A product that works well elsewhere doesn’t always work well here, and we want to know before you do.

How we stay independent

  • No paid reviews, ever. No brand can pay for a review, a better score or a place in our buying guides.
  • Brands don’t see reviews before they’re published. They don’t approve them and they can’t ask for changes.
  • We earn from affiliate links. When you buy through a link on our site, at stores like Amazon.in, Flipkart or Croma, we may earn a small commission. It never changes a verdict or a ranking.
  • We tell you where each product came from. We buy most products at retail price. When a brand lends a unit, we say so at the top of the review.
