Haier HW80-IM12929CS6 8 kg Front Load Washer Review
Our verdict
The Haier HW80-IM12929CS6 is an 8 kg inverter front loader with a wide 525 mm drum and Puri Steam that washes decently, though its slower cycles and mid-range service keep it behind the LG and Samsung.

The Haier HW80-IM12929CS6 is for households that wash bulky bedsheets and blankets and want steam and a steady inverter motor at a mid-range price. It cleans well enough, but cycles are slower than the LG and it lacks the app features of pricier rivals.
How well does it wash everyday clothes?
Good, not exceptional. The 40 degree cotton cycle removed dal and tea strips cleanly and faded haldi to a light tint, which cleared at 60 degrees. Collar grime needed pre-wash on its own, like most machines here. A mixed load of jeans and shirts came out evenly wet.
A hard-water setting adds a longer rinse and a softening step; with our water at about 380 ppm, it left less visible scale on the door seal than on the Samsung.
Does the 525 mm drum matter?
It does if you wash bedsheets. A double bedsheet and two pillow covers tumbled freely without twisting into a rope, and fewer imbalance stops occurred than on the IFB. Thick quilts are still best washed alone.
How long are cycles and how much water does it use?
The 40 degree cotton cycle took about 2 hours 30 minutes. A full load used around 56 litres and about 0.9 kWh. Efficiency is in line with other 5 star machines, but cycle time lags the LG by about 25 minutes.
What does Puri Steam do?
It releases steam inside the drum for sanitising and de-creasing, and it noticeably cut the stale smell on towels left damp overnight. It is useful in humid weather, though it adds around 20 minutes to the programme.
Is it quiet, and how does it handle Indian power conditions?
Wash noise is low, and spin reached about 69 dB at 1 metre. With small loads of 2 kg or less the drum shook slightly, so run it with a few more items. It handled swings between 190 and 245 V without trouble and resumed after a short power cut. Low inlet pressure only added a few minutes to fill time.
What about service?
Owner reports are mixed. Metros mostly get timely visits; smaller towns report waits. Confirm that an authorised Haier technician covers your area before you pay.
Should you buy it?
Buy it if bulky bedding is your main load and you can find it at a good price. If you want faster cycles and an app, the LG FHP1208Z5M is better, and the Samsung WW80T504DAX1TL costs less with more features.

We ran the Haier HW80-IM12929CS6 for 5 weeks in a family flat with hard water near 380 ppm, washing bedsheets, towels, cotton daily wear and jeans. We timed cycles, measured noise and moisture, and checked stain strips with dal, haldi, tea and collar grime.
The brand lent us this unit. They did not see or approve this review. Haier India lent us the unit for 5 weeks and collected it afterwards. Haier did not review the text before publication. We have no commercial relationship with Haier beyond affiliate links.

Questions buyers ask

No, this variant has no app control. Haier sells separate Wi-Fi models at a higher price, so check the model number.
