LG AS-Q19AWZE 1.5 Ton 5-Star Dual Inverter AC Review
Our verdict
The LG AS-Q19AWZE is a 1.5 ton 5-star dual inverter split AC that cools fast, runs quietly and has the widest service network in India, making it the safest pick for most families.

Skip it if
- You want the lowest annual power use, where Panasonic and Carrier rate better
- You want a PM2.5 filter rated for heavy winter smog
What we like
- Pulled the room from 34 to 24 °C in about 19 minutes
- Held 24 °C at 45 °C outdoors with no drift
- Very quiet indoor unit on low speed

The LG AS-Q19AWZE suits a family that wants an AC which cools quickly, stays quiet in a bedroom and can be repaired fast in most districts. The trade-off is price: it costs more than Carrier or Voltas for similar cooling, and its ISEER is lower than those of Panasonic, Daikin and Carrier, so the monthly power saving is smaller than the star rating suggests.
How fast does it cool a bedroom in an Indian summer?
In a 150 sq ft west-facing room at 34 °C, the LG reached 24 °C in about 19 minutes on turbo, the quickest of the six in this group. At 45 °C outdoors it took 27 minutes and then held 24 °C without drifting, with draw around 980 W while pulling down. The dual inverter ramps the compressor smoothly, so the room does not swing a degree either side of the set point.
Is it quiet enough for sleeping?
Yes. At one metre the indoor unit measured about 29 dB on low and 44 dB on turbo, and the compressor starts without a thump. The outdoor unit is moderate; we heard it from a neighbouring balcony only at full load. In a studio flat where the bed sits two metres from the indoor unit, this is the quietest option we tested.
How much will it add to the electricity bill?
Settled at 24 °C it drew about 640 W, and an eight-hour night used about 5.1 units. At Rs 8 per unit, nightly use works out to roughly Rs 1,220 a month. Panasonic and Carrier were a little lower, but the gap was under Rs 50 a month at this tariff.
Will it handle power cuts and voltage swings?
On a 3 kVA inverter it started and ran steadily; keep the rating honest, as a 1.5 ton AC alone can take most of a 2 kVA unit’s headroom. With the supply dipping to 180 V it kept running and recovered smoothly. In older buildings with deep dips, add a voltage-protected plug.
What features actually matter?
Auto-clean dries the coil after you switch off, which helps in humid coastal cities where the indoor unit grows a musty smell. The six convertible modes let you run at lower capacity for one or two people. The Wi-Fi app works for scheduling but is plain next to Samsung or Carrier. The filter is dust-grade, not a true PM2.5 stage.
What about installation, service and reliability?
LG has the widest service network of the brands here, and technicians reach most district towns in two to three days. Owners most often praise the quiet running and cooling; complaints are usually about the price and occasional parts delays in smaller towns. Basic installation is charged separately, and extra copper piping beyond the included length is billed on top, so ask for the quote in writing. Clean the indoor filters every month during summer.
Who should buy something else?
If your bill is the priority, the Carrier is cheaper to buy and a touch cheaper to run. If you need a PM2.5 filter, look at the Panasonic or Carrier. Everyone else will be well served by the LG.

Measured on the unit we tested.
How we tested
We ran the LG for six weeks through late-summer heat in Gurugram, with outdoor temperatures between 36 and 45 °C. We timed pull-down from 34 to 24 °C, logged power at the settled 24 °C set point and over eight-hour nights, measured indoor noise at one metre, and repeated the pull-down at 43 to 46 °C outdoors. We also tested on a 3 kVA inverter and with the supply dipping to 180 V.
The brand lent us this unit. They did not see or approve this review. LG lent us this unit for six weeks and had no input into the score or text. It went back after testing.

Questions buyers ask
Is the LG AS-Q19AWZE good for a 150 sq ft bedroom?
Yes. The LG AS-Q19AWZE took about 19 minutes to cool a 150 sq ft room from 34 to 24 °C and held that temperature at 45 °C outdoors. Rooms above 180 sq ft are better served by a 2 ton model.
How much power does the LG AS-Q19AWZE use?
It drew about 640 W at a settled 24 °C and 5.1 units over an eight-hour night. At Rs 8 per unit that is roughly Rs 1,220 a month for nightly use.
What is the warranty on the LG AS-Q19AWZE?
LG lists one year on the product, five years on the PCB and ten years on the compressor. Confirm the terms on your invoice, as promotional extensions vary.
Do I need a stabiliser with the LG AS-Q19AWZE?
Not usually. It kept running down to 180 V in our test, but in areas with frequent deep dips a voltage-protected plug is a cheap safeguard.
