Philips MG3720/15 7-in-1 Grooming Kit Review: Slow Charge
Our verdict
The Philips MG3720/15 is a 7-in-1 grooming kit with a 60-minute battery and self-sharpening blades that suits households that share one kit, though a 16-hour charge is the main drawback.

The Philips MG3720/15 is for households that want one kit for beard, hair, nose and ears and prefer a brand with long warranties. The trade-off is charging: it needs up to 16 hours and uses an older NiMH battery, so it feels dated next to USB-C trimmers.
Is a 7-in-1 kit useful or a gimmick?
For a shared household, useful. The attachments handle beard length, head trimming and nose-ear hair with one body, so it replaces two or three small devices. For one person with a beard only, a dedicated dial trimmer offers finer control.
How well does it cut a thick beard?
Decent. It pulled hair on two of five passes through a coarse beard, near the throat, and a 3 mm look came out even after two strokes. It is not as precise as the Braun at the edges, but it is forgiving. Head trims at a single comb length took about eight minutes and left no visible lines.
How long does the battery last and how slowly does it charge?
We measured about 58 minutes against 60 listed. Charge time was around 15 hours, close to the 16 hours on the data sheet. After six weeks the runtime was about 53 minutes. The slow charge is awkward if you forget to plug it in the night before, and a power cut can delay it further.
Is it easy to clean?
The attachments rinse clean, which the listing describes as rinseable. Keep the main body dry, tap out hair and brush the blade. We saw no rust in six weeks of humid weather when it was dried after each use.
How loud is it?
About 63 dB at 30 cm, a consistent buzz. It is gentle on the nose and ears.
What about warranty and service?
Philips lists three years, and the service network is among the widest for grooming products, with combs and spare heads sold in many cities. Keep the bill and register the product.
Who should pick something else?
If you only trim a beard and want fast charging, the Xiaomi 2C is cheaper and more modern. For a single trimmer from Philips with a dial, the BT3231/15 is simpler. Choose the MG3720/15 for family use and the warranty.
Can two people share one kit?
Yes, and that is its best use. Each person can use their own comb attachments and rinse them after use, while the main body stays dry. We found the pouch-free packaging a nuisance, so keep the pieces in a small box. Replace combs rather than sharing them if you notice cracks, and clean the blade after every use so hair from one person does not build up. A full week of four short sessions by two people used roughly half the battery in our test.
What should I check before buying?
Confirm the model number on the box reads MG3720/15, since Philips sells several similar 7-in-1 and 8-in-1 kits with different batteries and warranty terms. Look for the 3-year warranty on the card and buy from a seller that provides a proper GST invoice, because service claims usually need it.

Measured on the unit we tested.
How we tested
Two people shared the kit for six weeks: beard trims, head trims, and nose-ear grooming. We timed runtime and charge time, measured sound at 30 cm, compared a 3 mm pass against a ruler and counted pulls on five coarse-hair passes. Battery was re-timed at week six.
The brand lent us this unit. They did not see or approve this review. Philips India lent the kit for six weeks and it was returned afterwards. No payment was involved and the brand saw nothing before publication.
