Our verdict
The Philips BG2024/15 is a body-only groomer with a 3 mm comb and about 50 minutes of runtime that is comfortable on chest and arms, but it is slow to charge and has no beard use.

The Philips BG2024/15 is for men who groom the body and want to avoid nicks without learning a new routine. The trade-off is scope and stamina: it is body only, has a single 3 mm comb and needs about 8 hours to charge.
Is it safe on chest, underarms and legs?
Yes. Across four weeks we had no nicks on the chest, arms and underarms, and only light tugging on dense chest hair. The skin-friendly head glides, and the 3 mm comb leaves a short but not bare look. On legs, the groomer is slow because the head is narrow, so expect a long session.
How fast is it on dense body hair?
It needs two passes on dense chest hair and a slow pace. Hair that is longer than about two centimetres should be shortened with scissors first. An area the size of the chest took us around six minutes. If you want a close shave, a body groomer with a foil or a razor is faster.
How long does the battery last?
We measured about 49 minutes against 50 listed, and about 45 minutes after four weeks of weekly use. That is more than enough for body grooming, since a full session takes under 20 minutes. Charge time was close to 8 hours, so plug it in overnight and avoid power-cut evenings.
Can I use it on my beard?
Not according to the listing, which says it is for the body only. Using a body groomer on the face will give a poor finish. If you want a single kit for both, the Philips MG3720/15 is a better fit.
Is it fine in a humid bathroom?
We did not test it under water. Wipe the head dry, brush out hair and keep it out of shower steam. A damp cabinet in monsoon can cause rust, so store it in a dry drawer.
How loud is it?
About 60 dB at 30 cm, a soft buzz that is unobtrusive.
Service and warranty?
Philips has a wide service network, and spare heads are easier to find than for most grooming brands. We could not confirm the warranty term from a brand page, so check the card and keep the bill.
Who should pick something else?
If you want one tool for beard and body, pick the MG3720/15 kit. If you only need a beard trimmer, the Xiaomi 2C is a better value. The BG2024/15 suits body grooming only.
Who is it right for?
It suits men who groom chest, arms and underarms every few weeks and want a safe, no-fuss tool. It is a poor fit for anyone who wants a close, smooth look, since the 3 mm comb leaves short stubble. Check the comb before each use, because it can slip off if the clip is loose, and replace it if it cracks.
Buy only from a seller that provides a GST invoice, since an unbranded or grey-market unit may not carry Philips service. The model code BG2024/15 should be printed on the box.
