Eureka Forbes SmartClean Auto Bin S2 Review: Self-Emptying LiDAR
Our verdict
The Eureka Forbes SmartClean Auto Bin S2 is a LiDAR robot vacuum with a self-emptying bag and a very long battery, but its flat mop is a basic wipe you wash by hand.
Buy it if
- Large flats and bungalows that need a long runtime on one charge
- Households that want the dustbin emptied without weekly effort
- Buyers who prefer an Indian brand with a service network
Skip it if
- You mainly want mopping, since the pad is not washed or dried by the dock
- You want camera-based avoidance of cables and socks
What we like
- Cleaned about 1,400 sq ft on one charge in our test
- Self-emptying dock holds a 4L bag, rated for up to 65 days
- Climbed a 2 cm door sill and a raised bathroom threshold
- LiDAR map was ready in about five minutes on the first run
What we don’t
- Mop is a flat microfibre pad on a 300 ml tank that you refill and wash by hand
- No camera avoidance, so it dragged a charger cable once
- Dock bags are a recurring cost

The Eureka Forbes SmartClean Auto Bin S2 is a sensible choice for a large Indian home where dust is the main chore and battery life matters. The trade-off is mopping: it wipes with a flat pad you must wash yourself, so it is a vacuum first.
Does the self-emptying dock really cut daily work?
Mostly yes. After each run the dock sucks the bin into a 4L bag, so the robot’s small bin never overflows. Brand says up to 65 days; with dusty summers and two rooms of rugs we replaced the bag after about five weeks. Dock bags are a recurring cost, so check that they are stocked in your city before buying, since a tier-2 city may mean ordering online.
How well does it clean tile, Kota stone and rugs?
On vitrified tile it lifted about 96% of fine flour and roughly 90% of dry rice in one pass. Kota stone’s slight texture held a little more grit, but a second pass on max suction cleared it. On a low-pile rug it picked up around 82% of flour in max mode and automatically raised suction when it detected carpet. Long hair tangled in the main brush within a fortnight; plan on cutting it free every week.
How long does the battery last and how big a home can it handle?
This is the S2’s standout. On standard suction it ran about 3 hours 50 minutes and covered roughly 1,400 sq ft without recharging, and in max mode about 2 hours 20 minutes. If a power cut stops the dock, it continues once the electricity returns and picks up the leftover area.
Is the mopping any good?
It is a light wipe for marble and vitrified tile. The 300 ml tank covers about one 2BHK before refilling, and the pad needs a hand wash after each use or it smells. It left no streaks on light tile and mild ones on dark. Think of it as a finishing touch.
Will it climb thresholds or get stuck?
The S2 climbed a 2 cm door sill and a raised bathroom threshold in our test. It still lacks a camera, so it caught a charger cable once and a hanging dupatta fringe twice in five weeks. Roughly one stuck event a week is fair for this class.
How loud is it and how do I set it up?
Noise measured around 60 dB at one metre in standard mode and about 68 dB on max, and the dock’s emptying burst lasts roughly ten seconds at about 72 dB. The app requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and builds a LiDAR map in about five minutes.
What about service?
Eureka Forbes has a long-standing service presence in Indian cities, and spares such as brushes and filters are easier to source than for most import brands. We saw a one-year warranty on a retailer listing, but not on an official page.
Who should buy something else?
If you want automatic mop washing and drying, choose the Ecovacs Deebot Mini Omni or the Mova E40 Ultra.

How we tested
We ran the S2 for five weeks in a 3BHK of about 1,400 sq ft with vitrified tile, Kota stone in the passage and two rugs. We measured pickup of flour, rice and hair, runtime on standard and max suction, dock emptying behaviour, stuck events per week and noise at one metre.
We bought this unit at retail price.
How does the Eureka Forbes SmartClean with Auto Bin S2 compare?
-
Ecovacs Deebot Mini Omni B 7.9
The Ecovacs washes and dries its mop pads at the dock, which the Eureka Forbes cannot do. The Eureka Forbes runs far longer per charge and holds a bigger dust bag.
-
Dreame L10 Prime Robot Vacuum and Mop B− 7.2
The Dreame washes its own pads but has no self-emptying and weaker suction. The Eureka Forbes is the better vacuum, the Dreame the better mopper.
-
Mova E40 Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop A− 8.6
The Mova E40 Ultra washes and dries its mop pads at the dock, which the S2 cannot, and picked up more flour from a rug (about 90% against 82% in max mode). The Eureka Forbes S2 costs less and has a wider service network.
