Air Purifiers Review
Boon Airvana Review: Dual HEPA, 8-Sensor Purifier
Our verdict
The Boon Airvana is the best home air purifier we tested for Indian winters: 380 m3/h CADR, two H13 HEPA filters, eight-parameter sensing and full app and smart-home control.
Buy it if
- Delhi-NCR flats facing AQI 300-500 for weeks
- Buyers who want a live air-quality monitor built into the purifier
- Homes already on Alexa or Google Home
Skip it if
- You want a nationwide on-site service network (warranty is send-in)
- You prefer a purifier with no app or Wi-Fi at all
What we like
- Fastest room clean-up of the group in our tests
- Two H13 HEPA filters, so dust load is shared
- Eight-parameter sensor: PM1, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC, NO2, eCO2, temperature, humidity
- Round display with several faces and a high-AQI alert
- App scheduling, Alexa, Google Home and Matter support
- Every mode also works from touch buttons on top
What we don’t
- Warranty is one year, send-in to Boon
- Boon has not published noise, power or filter prices
- Newest product in the group, so no long-term owner history

The Boon Airvana is the air purifier to buy if you live somewhere the AQI crosses 300 every winter and want to see what is happening in the room, not just a coloured light. It cleans a bedroom faster than anything else in this group and reads eight air-quality parameters. The trade-off is service: the warranty is one year and send-in, and the product is new.
How fast does it clear Delhi winter smog?
After we burnt incense in a closed 180 sq ft bedroom to push PM2.5 to about 300 ug/m3, the Airvana took 16 minutes to get under 35. The Xiaomi and Dyson needed 18 and 23 minutes in the same room. That tracks the 380 m3/h CADR Boon quotes: it moves the room’s air through its filters more than eight times an hour at that size. Boon claims coverage of about 484 sq ft, which assumes about 3 air changes an hour. For a Delhi November, treat 250 sq ft as the room where it still feels powerful.
Why two HEPA filters, and does it matter?
Air enters from both sides through two filters instead of one, ahead of an activated carbon layer for cooking smells and exhaust. In practice the benefit is not only speed. Dust is shared across two filters, which Boon says makes them last longer than a single-filter unit. We cannot confirm that claim in six weeks, and Boon has not published a replacement filter price, so we could not work out a yearly running cost. The washable pre-filter caught visible lint and pet hair by week three and rinsed clean.
Is the built-in sensor accurate?
This is the feature that sets it apart. Against a handheld PM2.5 monitor the Airvana’s reading stayed within about 10 to 15 percent across 30 to 400 ug/m3, which is good for a consumer laser sensor. It also reports TVOC, NO2 and estimated CO2. The CO2 figure is an estimate, not a true NDIR reading, so use it as a prompt to open a window rather than a health measurement. The traffic-pollution alert fired reliably when we opened a road-facing balcony door.
How loud is it at night?
On Sleep we measured about 29 dB at 1 metre, close to a quiet room, and the display dimmed. At top speed it reached about 57 dB, noticeable but not worse than a ceiling fan on medium. Boon has not published a noise figure, so these are our measurements. Wall power on top speed was about 48 W, which a 1 kVA inverter handles easily during a power cut.
What does the app and smart-home support add?
Scheduling, air-quality targets and diagnostics are the useful bits. Auto mode followed the real-time AQI well enough that we rarely touched the fan. Alexa and Google Home worked for on, off and mode changes. Wi-Fi pairing took a hold of three seconds on the unit.
Who should look elsewhere?
If your home is far from Boon’s logistics or you want a technician to visit, a Philips or Dyson with a wider service footprint is safer. If you only want the cheapest HEPA box, several models in this group cost less, though none matched this one’s sensing.
Where can you buy the Boon Airvana?
Boon sells the Airvana directly on helloboon.com. Buying from the brand store keeps the one-year send-in warranty straightforward to claim.

How we tested
We ran the Airvana in a 180 sq ft closed bedroom with a 9 ft ceiling through the stubble-burning weeks, with outdoor AQI between 280 and 460. We timed PM2.5 clean-up from about 300 to under 35 ug/m3 after burning incense, logged noise at 1 m on Sleep and top speed, measured wall power, and compared the built-in sensor against a handheld reference monitor.
We bought this unit at retail price.

Questions buyers ask
What room size is the Boon Airvana good for?
The Boon Airvana is rated for about 484 sq ft by Boon, at 380 m3/h CADR. In our 180 sq ft bedroom it brought PM2.5 from about 300 to under 35 ug/m3 in 16 minutes. In a living room above 400 sq ft, expect slower clean-up during peak smog.
Does the Boon Airvana work without the app?
Yes. The Boon Airvana has touch buttons on top for power, mode, fan speed, timer, display face and child lock. The app adds scheduling, air-quality targets, diagnostics and insight cards, but it is optional.
Does the Boon Airvana work with Alexa and Google Home?
Yes. Boon lists Amazon Alexa and Google Home support for the Airvana, and Matter, the cross-brand smart-home standard. We controlled it from the app and by voice during testing.
What warranty does the Boon Airvana have?
Boon gives a one-year warranty on the Airvana with send-in service: you send the unit to Boon, whose team reviews and repairs or replaces covered parts. There is no on-site visit, which matters in tier-2 cities.
