The Samsung HW-C450 is for people who want a neat, wireless 2.1 bar from a brand with service almost everywhere, especially if the TV is also Samsung. It sounds balanced and safe, but it offers little extra over cheaper 2.1 bars, which is why value is its weak spot.
Is the sound balanced for films, news and songs?
Yes. Voices were centred and clear, and music had a natural tone without the boom common at this price. On a Hindi film with a loud background score, dialogue held up well at moderate volume. It is less punchy than the boAt or Zebronics bars, but easier to live with for long sessions.
How strong is the wireless subwoofer?
The sub is reserved. Cricket crowd roar and action scenes got a pleasant weight, but not the chest-thump a 5.1 setup gives. In a 150 sq ft room this is a plus, since it stays tidy at night and does not rattle shelves. Bass-loving buyers will want to look elsewhere.
Does the virtual surround work?
Only slightly. DTS Virtual:X widens the sound in front of you, but it does not wrap behind the seating. For stronger effects, a 5.1 system like the Sony HT-S20R is better. Treat this as a clean stereo-plus-sub bar with a bit of added width.
Does it work with HDMI ARC and non-Samsung TVs?
HDMI ARC worked on both TVs, with lip-sync within a frame after enabling CEC. The Samsung TV offered one-remote control with fewer menu steps. A set-top box without an ARC output should go through the TV. Bluetooth held at 8 m through one wall.
What about service and availability?
Samsung’s service network is among the widest in India, and parts are generally available. The price varies a lot between sellers and sale periods, and a few listings were out of stock, so compare before buying. Owner reviews mention neat looks and easy pairing, with complaints about modest bass and the price compared with rivals.
Who should buy something else?
If you want the clearest dialogue, pick the LG S40T. If you want a wireless sub at a lower price, the JBL Cinema SB180 is the better value.

Measured on the unit we tested.
How we tested
We used the HW-C450 with a 50-inch Samsung Crystal 4K TV and a 43-inch non-Samsung TV in a 150 sq ft living room. We played Hindi films, news, cricket and songs, checked HDMI ARC lip-sync on both TVs, and checked Bluetooth range through one wall.
The brand lent us this unit. They did not see or approve this review. The Samsung HW-C450 was a loaner supplied by a retail contact and returned after testing. No payment or editorial control was involved.

-
LG S40T 300W 2.1 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer B+ 8.3
The LG S40T has clearer dialogue, sounding more distinct on overlapping voices, and also uses a wireless subwoofer. Both brands have wide service networks, and each gives one-remote control with its own brand of TV.
-
JBL Cinema SB180 2.1 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer B+ 8.0
The JBL Cinema SB180 also has a wireless subwoofer and costs a little less on the street, so it is the better value. The Samsung's advantages are wider service reach and one-remote control with Samsung TVs.
-
Sony HT-S20R 5.1ch Home Theatre Soundbar with Dolby Digital B 7.7
The Sony HT-S20R's wired rear speakers give real surround behind the seating, which the Samsung's DTS Virtual:X only widens in front of you. The Samsung is the simpler, cable-free setup.
-
boAt Aavante Prime 5.1 5000DA 500W Soundbar with Subwoofer B− 7.1
The boAt Aavante Prime 5000DA is punchier, with heavier bass from its wooden subwoofer. The Samsung is more balanced, stays tidy at night and is easier to live with for long sessions.
