Omron HEM-7156T Review: Bluetooth BP Monitor, Tested
Our verdict
The Omron HEM-7156T is a Bluetooth upper-arm BP monitor with a wide-range IntelliWrap cuff that syncs readings to the Omron Connect app, best for families who share data with a doctor.

The Omron HEM-7156T is for families who want blood pressure logged on a phone and shared with a doctor, often because the parent lives in another city. The trade-off is a few minutes of Bluetooth setup and a higher price than Omron’s basic monitors.
Does the Omron HEM-7156T give consistent readings?
Over 48 paired readings it averaged 2 mmHg below our reference monitor on systolic and 1 mmHg below on diastolic. Three readings a minute apart varied by about 4 mmHg systolic. A full reading, from start to result, took about 40 seconds. We did not run a clinical validation study, so look up the exact model on validatebp.org and compare it once with your doctor’s clinic device.
How good is the IntelliWrap cuff for larger arms?
The pre-formed cuff is listed for roughly 22-42 cm and closed without gaps on our 24 to 40 cm arms. That is a clear advantage over cuffs limited to 32 cm. The tube is short, so sit close to a table. A wrongly positioned cuff gives wrong numbers; the cuff edge sits about 2 cm above the elbow crease.
How easy is the Omron Connect app?
Once paired, the app lists each reading with date and time and shows trends. Pairing worked first time on two of our four phones; on the other two it took five to ten minutes of toggling Bluetooth and location permissions. Older parents may need a child to set it up once, after which the monitor still works on its own and stores readings for later sync. For sharing, screenshot the app’s chart and send it on WhatsApp.
How should I measure blood pressure at home?
Sit with your back supported and feet flat, rest for five minutes, rest the bare arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level, and stay quiet. Take two or three readings a minute apart and note the pattern over several days. Home readings do not replace a doctor’s diagnosis, and an app chart should not change medicines without medical advice.
How long do the batteries last?
It runs on AA batteries and the adapter is not in the box. Bluetooth syncing drains more than a non-app model; we got about 220 readings from one set of alkaline cells. Keep spare AAs at home, and if readings stop syncing, check the batteries before reinstalling the app, since low power is a common cause of dropped Bluetooth connections. Readings taken while the app is closed are stored and sent at the next sync.
What about service and warranty?
The Flipkart listing shows three years with off-site service, and physical damage is excluded. Omron is widely sold through pharmacies and online, but off-site service means posting or dropping the unit, so keep the invoice.
Who should buy something else?
If you do not need the app or a cuff above 32 cm, the Omron HEM-7121 is cheaper and simpler. If voice guidance matters, the Agaro BP 601 speaks the result in English.

How we tested
Four adults of different ages took morning and evening sessions of three readings each for four weeks, compared with a validated reference upper-arm monitor on the other arm (48 paired readings). We paired the monitor with four phones, timed each reading, tried arms from 24 to 40 cm and counted readings per battery set.
We bought this unit at retail price.
