Livpure Zinger Hot UV Review: UV+UF Hot Water Purifier

Livpure Zinger Hot UV water purifier, front view with hot and ambient taps

Our verdict

The Livpure Zinger Hot UV gives hot, warm and ambient water from a 6.5 L UV+UF+copper system, but with no RO stage it cannot reduce TDS, so it suits only low-TDS municipal supply.

Buy it if

  • Low-TDS municipal supply where a UV+UF purifier is already enough
  • Buyers who want hot water from a lower-cost unit

Skip it if

  • Your tap or borewell TDS is above about 500 ppm
  • You want a stainless-steel tank, 2-year warranty or app

What we like

  • Hot, warm and ambient outputs in one unit
  • Lowest price in this group
  • No RO reject water, so nothing is wasted
  • No RO membrane, so filter replacements cost less

What we don’t

  • UV+UF does not remove dissolved salts, so TDS stays unchanged
  • Only 5 stages listed against 8 to 10 on the RO units
  • Tank material and hot temperature are not stated on the Flipkart page
  • Flipkart shows a middling 3.9 average rating

The Livpure Zinger Hot UV is for a household on low-TDS municipal water that wants hot water without paying RO-purifier prices. The main trade-off is purification itself: with no RO stage it does not lower dissolved salts at all.

Will it purify hard or borewell water?

No. It uses UV, UF and copper. UF removes particles and UV kills microbes, but neither removes dissolved salts. We fed it 450, 900 and 1,500 ppm TDS and the output read 446, 893 and 1,486 ppm. In Bengaluru on Cauvery supply, where TDS is usually low, that can be acceptable. In a hard-water borewell home it is the wrong tool. An RO unit like the Boon Homie Pro, rated for up to 2,000 TDS, is the one to look at.

How hot does it get, and how quickly?

The page lists hot, warm and ambient water but no temperature. Our thermometer read 72 to 76 °C on hot and 41 to 46 °C on warm. The first hot cup took about 60 seconds and we drew 19 cups an hour before the output cooled. Standby draw averaged 0.14 kWh a day.

Is it safe for children?

The Flipkart page does not mention a child lock. We found no separate lock on the unit. If young children are around, this is a reason to pick a model with a listed lock, such as the Boon, Havells or Aquaguard units.

What do owners say?

Flipkart shows a 3.9 average rating for this model, which is middling. We could not verify recurring complaints, so we do not repeat any here.

Is it good for chai, green tea and baby formula?

Hot water at 72 to 76 °C is fine for chai and noodles, and the warm setting suits a morning glass in winter. For formula, remember the unit does not lower TDS, so if your supply is hard, the formula will carry the same dissolved salts. Boil-and-cool or an RO unit is the safer route for infants.

How does it behave in winter?

Incoming water is colder in December and January, so expect the first hot cup to take longer than in our autumn runs. We did not test mid-winter, so treat this as general guidance. The tank is small at 6.5 L, so a family of five that fills bottles for school and office will need to wait between refills.

How much does it cost to run?

With no RO membrane, filter costs are lower. We estimated about Rs 2,000 to 2,800 a year including power, based on our usage; Livpure does not publish a kit price on the page. That estimate is ours.

Warranty and service

The Flipkart page does not state a warranty. Other Zinger listings show one year, a shorter term than the 2-year comprehensive warranty on the Boon Homie Pro. Check Livpure’s service coverage for your pincode before buying, and ask the seller about the installation visit, since a UV+UF unit still needs mounting and a power point.

Who should buy it?

Buy it only if your supply is already low-TDS and budget is tight. Everyone else is better served by an RO unit.

How we tested

We fed the Zinger at 450, 900 and 1,500 ppm TDS and measured output TDS, timed the first hot cup and the climb to 80 °C, counted hot cups per hour, compared the thermometer with the hot and warm settings, logged standby kWh over a week and looked for a child lock.

We bought this unit at retail price.

Questions buyers ask

Does the Livpure Zinger Hot UV reduce TDS?

No. The Livpure Zinger Hot UV uses UV, UF and copper without an RO membrane, so dissolved salts pass through. In our test output TDS matched input at 450, 900 and 1,500 ppm, within a few ppm.

Is the Livpure Zinger Hot UV suitable for borewell water?

Not on its own. UV+UF removes germs and suspended particles but not dissolved salts or hardness, so borewell and tanker water above about 500 ppm needs an RO unit.

How hot is the Livpure Zinger Hot UV water?

The Flipkart page lists instant hot, warm and ambient water but not a temperature. In our test the hot tap reached 72 to 76 °C.

Does the Livpure Zinger Hot UV have a warranty?

The Flipkart page does not state it. Livpure's other Zinger listings at Croma and Bajaj Finserv show 1 year, but confirm the terms for this exact model.
