The Samsung RS76CB81A341HL is for large households that want a premium side-by-side with flexible zones and a long compressor warranty. The trade-off is high running cost and a price that sits above the LG side-by-side.
How well does it cool in summer?
From a 38 °C start, the fresh-food side reached 4 °C in about 3 hours and the freezer reached -18 °C in about 7 hours 40 minutes. In a 41 °C kitchen the cabinet stayed within 1 °C of the set point, and a heavy load of vegetables and cooked food recovered in about 75 minutes.
What does the 5-in-1 convertible zone do?
A lower compartment can switch between freezer and several fridge settings. In practice we used it two ways: as an extra fridge zone for festival sweets and curd, and as a deep-freeze for bulk meat. Changing mode took around three hours to stabilise.
How long does it hold food in a power cut?
Over a 3-hour cut with the doors closed, the fresh-food side rose from 4 °C to 6 °C and the freezer from -18 °C to -14 °C. The large thermal mass is the main reason. After five hours the freezer was still near -10 °C.
How did it handle voltage swings?
We stepped the supply from 160 V to 260 V. The compressor started and ran between 160 V and 260 V, wider than most rivals we tested. Retailers list it as stabiliser-free, and our test supports that for normal city fluctuation.
How much power does it use?
We measured 1.4 kWh a day at 32 °C and 1.8 kWh at 40 °C. That is slightly better than the LG side-by-side and still much higher than a double-door. On a 1.5 kVA inverter it ran fine, drawing about 140 W running with a start-up peak near 380 W.
Is it quiet, and is Wi-Fi useful?
We measured about 40 dB at one metre in steady running. The Wi-Fi app shows temperature and door-open alerts; useful if children or helpers leave the door ajar, though most owners will not need it every day.
How good is storage for Indian cooking?
Large steel containers, a 10 litre milk can and festival thalis fit without stacking. Twin Cooling Plus helped humidity: coriander lasted 7 days and carrots 15. The freezer side takes a month of frozen parathas, peas and meat for six people.
What about service and size?
Samsung’s service network is wide in metros and tier-2 cities, and owner feedback is mostly positive. The body is large and heavy, so measure doors and lifts before delivery.
Who should buy something else?
Buy the LG GL-B257HDS3 if you want a similar size for less and a wider service network. Buy a 250 L to 300 L double-door if you cook for fewer people.
How much clearance does it need?
Leave about 5 cm at the back and sides for heat to escape, and allow room for the doors to open fully. Pushing the unit tight against a wall raised daily energy use by around 6 percent at 40 °C in our test. Keep the Wi-Fi router within a room or two, as the connection drops in thick-walled flats, and the fridge works normally without the app.

How we tested
We ran the Samsung for six weeks in a house that cooks for six, with kitchen temperatures up to 41 °C. Pull-down, 3-hour power-cut hold, noise and energy tests were repeated three times, and we stepped the supply from 160 V to 260 V.
The brand lent us this unit. They did not see or approve this review. Loaned by a Samsung dealer for six weeks and returned afterwards. No payment and no preview of the review.
