Both are mid-priced 750 W mixer grinders from big appliance brands, and they performed closely in our tests. The real difference is in the box: the Philips is the smaller, cheaper three-jar machine, while the Prestige adds a juicer jar.

Which grinds idli batter and masalas faster?

The Philips, by a small margin. It finished our 1 kg idli batch about a minute sooner and reached a fine masala powder in less time, and its motor ran a little cooler after three back-to-back batter batches. Neither is a heavy batter machine: both are slower than 900 W models, so they suit families who make idli once or twice a week rather than daily.

Is the Prestige’s juicer jar worth it?

If you juice often, yes. The Prestige’s juicer jar handled sweet lime, carrot and pineapple, though the pulp came out a little wet, so a second run gets more juice out. The Philips has no juicer jar; it is fine for milkshakes but cannot separate pulp.

Which suits a small kitchen?

The Philips. It is the lighter machine and small enough to move to a shelf after use, which matters more in a rented flat than a minute saved on batter. Its 0.3 L small jar is also well sized for daily coconut chutney.

What should you check before buying either?

Both are sold in several variants. The Philips HL7756 comes in colour variants whose listings differ on warranty and jar contents, and the Prestige Iris is sold with three or four jars under different model suffixes. Compare the jar list and the warranty line on the seller’s page before ordering. Both completed our masala test on a 180 V supply, and both are better run on a 1.5 kVA inverter than a 1 kVA one.

Questions buyers ask

Which grinds idli batter faster, the Philips HL7756 or the Prestige Iris 750W?

The Philips HL7756 was slightly faster, grinding a 1 kg idli batch in about 15 minutes against about 16 minutes for the Prestige Iris 750W in our tests. Both made smooth batter that fermented well.

Does the Philips HL7756 have a juicer jar?

No. The Philips HL7756 has three jars of 1.5 L, 1 L and 0.3 L and no juicer jar. The four-jar Prestige Iris 750W adds a 1.1 L juicer jar to three stainless steel jars.

Which is quieter, the Philips HL7756 or the Prestige Iris 750W?

Neither is quiet. We measured about 83 dB for the Philips HL7756 and about 84 dB for the Prestige Iris 750W at one metre at top speed, so both sound like a full-power mixer grinder.

What warranty do the Philips HL7756 and Prestige Iris 750W have?

Both are commonly listed with two years. Some sellers mention a five-year motor warranty on the Philips HL7756, and one third-party page claimed one for the Prestige Iris 750W that we could not verify. Read the warranty card in the box.
