Both are under-sink RO purifiers from brands with technicians in smaller towns, which is why buyers outside the metros often weigh one against the other. They performed closely in our tests; the differences are in noise, the extra UF stage and how much cabinet space each needs.

Which purifies hard borewell water better?

The Aquaguard was tested on 450 to 900 ppm borewell water and gave about 35 ppm from 450 ppm and about 60 ppm from 900 ppm, with about 125 ppm from a 1,500 ppm spike. The Kent ran on a supply that alternated between about 250 ppm municipal and 700 to 900 ppm borewell water, giving about 25 ppm and 50 to 65 ppm. Both are fine for moderate borewell water; we would not rely on the Aquaguard above 1,500 ppm without checking with Eureka Forbes.

Is UF worth having on top of RO and UV?

The Kent adds a UF stage after RO and UV, which gave us extra confidence on muddy monsoon-season supply. The Aquaguard instead has an MTDS taste adjuster that the technician sets at installation, so you cannot change it day to day. If your water is the same all year, the Aquaguard’s quieter pump matters more than the extra stage.

Which fits under a modular kitchen sink?

The Kent is the harder fit. It has three vertical filter housings, a pump and a separate pressure tank that need a lot of cabinet depth, and its exposed housings look dated. Both give only about 25 cm of clearance under the tap, so neither takes a tall pot.

Which has better service?

Both brands reach smaller towns than newer rivals. Eureka Forbes had the widest service network we found, and owners praise its installation speed; Kent owners praise its service response. On both, the main complaint is the cost of cartridges after the first year, so ask for the filter price in writing before you buy.
