On our meters these two fans are near twins: 36 W at top speed, about 18 hours on a 900 VA inverter, and 51 to 52 dB at one metre. The choice comes down to service reach, warranty and whether you want a boost button.
Which moves more air in a living room?
At normal top speed the Superfan measured 2.3 m/s at 1.5 m below the blades and the Crompton 2.2 m/s. The Crompton’s Hyper mode pushes that to about 2.5 m/s for short bursts, at roughly 44 W. In a 14 by 12 ft living room the Crompton handled afternoon heat on its fourth speed without the boost.
Which is better during power cuts and voltage dips?
Neither has an edge. Both ran about 18 hours at top speed on a 900 VA inverter with a 150 Ah battery and two LED bulbs, and both restarted on their own after the switch-over. Both held their speed to about 190 V and kept running at 180 V.
Which has better warranty and service?
This is the real difference. The Superfan carries a 5-year warranty listed on the brand page, against 2 years on most Crompton listings. Crompton’s service network covers most towns, while Superfan’s is smaller, so check that a Superfan technician covers your city. Some Crompton owners report remote or control-board failures after a year or two, which is where a longer warranty helps.
Questions buyers ask
